London Courthouse – Building Assessment
Client: SNC Lavalin Profac | Owner: Province of Ontario
Project Location: London, Ontario
The London Courthouse is a prominent member of the high rise buildings that make up downtown London’s skyline. Designed by Skinner and Stevens Architects, the building was constructed in the early 1970’s. NA Engineering Associates Inc. has been providing consulting engineering services to the Province of Ontario, owner of this building since 2003 Work on this site has been coordinated by the property managers which included SNC Lavalin and CBRE. A comprehensive condition assessment looked at the complete building; building envelope, roofing systems, all mechanical and electrical equipment, environmental, code issues, as well as the interior finishes. Since then, other significant projects that have been completed include preparation of specifications and tender documents for complete replacement of all of escalators, elevators, plaza deck waterproofing, precast concrete caulking, foundation waterproofing (partial), and the heat tracing on the entrance/exit ramps to the underground parking garage.
